The Emerging Ideas Committee serves as an incubator and a promoter of new projects and emerging ideas within the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic
Emerging Ideas
Mission and vision
It is the responsibility of the Emerging Ideas Committee to: solicit, receive, evaluate, develop and promote proposed new projects and emerging ideas and to communicate with Presbyteries about innovative ministry ideas.
Projects
-
Next Generation Initiative: Vibrant, imaginative, and bold Black leadership is needed in our presbyteries, our communities, our mid-councils, and in arenas of ecumenical and interfaith dialogue.
-
Wild Church Network: The Wild Church Network is an ecumenical and inter-spiritual network of pastors, and spiritual leaders who serve a local Wild Church and are also part of a larger movement of connection, support, resource-sharing, and co-learning. Wild Church gatherings offer opportunities for prayer and contemplation, grief and praise, movement and song, solo wanderings and wonderings, advocacy, ecological restoration and activism on behalf of and in collaboration with the beloved others in our watersheds.
